Rizvan Kuniev blasts rankings for Alex Pereira’s ‘very strange’ spot, wants him next after Alexander Volkov at UFC 333

UFC heavyweight Rizvan Kuniev is set to fight Alexander Volkov this Saturday in Abu Dhabi at UFC 333. Kuniev, who recently defeated Jailton Almeida and Tyrell Fortune, dismissed Volkov's comments regarding a 2023 PFL doping ban, claiming the veteran is terrified of him.

He argued that his own performance against Curtis Blaydes was superior to Volkov's five-round loss to the same opponent.

Looking ahead, Kuniev hopes to face Alex Pereira after his bout with Sergei Pavlovich at UFC 335 on December 12 in Las Vegas. He prefers Pereira over Pavlovich to avoid fighting a fellow countryman and believes a victory over the media star would boost his own profile.

Meanwhile, champion Ciryl Gane will defend his title against Josh Hokit at Madison Square Garden on November 14 for UFC 334.
