Real Madrid loan watch: Franco Mastantuono makes Serie A history with match-winning performance against Sassuolo

Fiorentina loanee Franco Mastantuono etched his name into the Italian top-flight record books by becoming the joint-second-youngest athlete to net at least four goals across his initial ten appearances in the competition. At nineteen years and eighty days of age, the teenager shares this milestone with Mohammed Kallon, trailing only Alexandre Pato.

During a recent four to two triumph against Sassuolo, the midfielder contributed the squad's third strike alongside completing three dribbles, winning six duels, and registering twenty-six ball carries, complemented by defensive contributions including two won tackles and three interceptions. His four league tallies have arrived across a pair of outings, following an earlier hat-trick against Venezia.

Initially brought to Europe from River Plate by Real Madrid before being dispatched on a temporary agreement to secure regular playing time under the guidance of Jose Mourinho, the player is tied to a contract running until 2027. While leadership at the Santiago Bernabeu hopes for increased scoring consistency, his broader contributions in possession and defensive situations have drawn attention as he seeks to earn a future first-team opportunity.
