Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs will not make a quick return to the field, according to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport. The league has filed a Freedom of Information Act request with local law enforcement to obtain sealed evidence from an incident where Jacobs entered a no-contest plea to charges of battery and criminal damage to property involving his girlfriend.
The Hobart-Lawrence Police Department now has a ten-day window, beginning on September 25, to process public records requests for the case evidence, which includes a garage surveillance recording. While Jacobs remains on the commissioner exempt list, league observers believe his potential reinstatement might require missing five to eight contests.
