Raiders Mailbag: Who needs to step up against Dolphins with Brock Bowers out?

The Las Vegas Raiders must adapt their offense for their season opener versus the Miami Dolphins following a knee procedure for Brock Bowers. The standout tight end had his meniscus trimmed by Dr.

Daniel Cooper on September 8 in Dallas, sidelining him for Week 1 and potentially further action. Newly appointed head coach Klint Kubiak confirmed the absence while remaining vague regarding a definitive return timetable.

With Bowers unavailable for at least one or two contests, fellow tight end Michael Mayer assumes primary responsibilities in the starting lineup. Mayer enters the spotlight as the team seeks key offensive contributors to shoulder the workload during their primary weapon's recovery.
