Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers enters Sunday’s matchup against the Buffalo Bills as the NFL’s most dominant receiving threat at his position, having already rewritten rookie records in his first season. In 2023, Bowers shattered the NFL rookie mark with 112 catches—more than any other rookie at any position—while averaging a staggering 2.02 yards per route run.
His efficiency was undeniable, with 1,194 receiving yards on just 592 routes, matching CeeDee Lamb’s total yardage despite fewer targets. Even after missing the first two games of this season due to injury, Bowers has returned with elite production, posting a 2.79 yards-per-route-run rate, the highest among tight ends, and leading Las Vegas in all receiving categories.
His ability to operate from the outside at a 40.1% clip—nearly identical to Zay Flowers’ rate—underscores his versatility, while his contested-catch rate remains elite, at 7-of-10 this season entering this game. With Kirk Cousins thriving when targeting him (136.5 passer rating in three outings), Bowers could again dominate if Buffalo’s defense fails to prioritize containing him, especially after Puka Nacua’s high-volume performance in their last meeting.
