Preview: Blackhawks to debut Hometown Remix jerseys tonight against the Avs

Tonight marks the opening divisional matchup of the 2026-27 regular season between the visiting Colorado Avalanche and the Chicago Blackhawks. Chicago will debut its fresh Hometown Remix jersey design for the occasion, with Frank Nazar wearing the sweater first.

The Avalanche enter the contest riding a two-momentum streak following recent victories over the New Jersey Devils and Calgary Flames, sitting at an 8-5-1 record. Meanwhile, the Blackhawks hold a 4-9-1 standing and look to reverse a two-game skid that included defeats against the Detroit Red Wings and Boston Bruins.

Colorado will be missing defenseman Josh Manson due to a lower-body injury expected to sideline him for at least eight weeks, prompting the team to recall Keaton Middleton as an extra defender for the current back-to-back stretch. The visitors are also navigating roster questions with Logan O'Connor listed as day-to-day for personal reasons and Gavin Brindley having been returned to the AHL.
