Pedro Acosta has revealed that he declined a potential move to the VR46 squad during his challenging 2025 season with KTM. The Spaniard admitted that his personal frustration at the time would have hindered his performance on a Ducati machine.

After securing his maiden MotoGP victory in Austria, Acosta felt he reached the necessary maturity to accept a factory seat alongside Marc Marquez for the 2027 campaign. He now views this upcoming partnership as a vital opportunity to gain insights from the veteran champion before his eventual retirement.

Acosta intends to prioritize adapting to the new team environment after spending six years within the KTM structure.
