Australian rider Jack Miller posted a heartfelt farewell after the MotoGP event at Phillip Island was called off due to heavy rain and low visibility that prevented the medical helicopter from operating. He expressed disappointment that his final home MotoGP race ended without a start, thanked fans for their support throughout his decade‑long career, and noted his upcoming move to World Superbikes with Yamaha in 2027.
Miller had qualified fifth for the race and earned his first sprint points of the season on Saturday, but the cancellation marked the end of MotoGP at Phillip Island, which will shift to Adelaide next year. He will return to the circuit for the 2027 WorldSBK opener, the last WorldSBK visit before the series moves to The Bend in 2028.
