Aprilia's “happy, sorry” emotions at Phillip Island MotoGP cancellation

Aprilia Racing CEO Massimo Rivola expressed mixed feelings regarding the cancellation of the Australian MotoGP at Phillip Island. While he acknowledged that title contender Jorge Martin likely benefited from the event being called off due to poor visibility and helicopter safety concerns, he noted that Marco Bezzecchi felt frustrated by the loss of a potential podium opportunity.

Rivola also lamented the disappointment felt by fans and his own family who traveled to witness the final race at the historic circuit. Despite the cancellation, Rivola admitted that Aprilia failed to capitalize on their performance potential during the recent overseas rounds.
