Spinners dominated the third day of the Ranji Trophy Elite Group C fixture, capturing sixteen of the eighteen wickets that tumbled on Wednesday. Left-arm spinner Pradipta Pramanik dismantled the opposition batting lineup by claiming four wickets for twenty-one runs as the home side finished the day struggling at fifty-three for four in pursuit of a massive four-hundred-and-eight-run target.
Earlier in the morning session, Pramanik also wreaked havoc during the first innings by securing four dismissals for forty-four runs, restricting the opponents to a total of one-hundred-and-forty-one. Rather than enforcing the follow-on, the visiting side elected to bat again and aggressively extended their overall advantage past four hundred, bolstered by a brisk cameo from Mohammed Shami and contributions from captain Abhimanyu Easwaran and Sudip Chatterjee before Jalaj Saxena claimed five wickets.
