The Green Bay Packers have placed running back Chris Brooks on injured reserve, ending his season after a nagging ankle injury sidelined him. Brooks had been the team’s leading back in terms of playing time before the injury, but his absence has already been addressed with the promotion of Pierre Strong Jr.
from the practice squad. The Packers’ backfield will now rotate among Strong, MarShawn Lloyd, and Kaleb Johnson until Josh Jacobs completes his commissioner’s exemption period, though the NFL has yet to finalize Jacobs’ suspension status or duration.
Brooks’ injury will keep him out for at least the next four games, with his earliest possible return to the active roster set for Week 9 against the New England Patriots. Meanwhile, the Packers have an open roster spot and may soon activate receiver Savion Williams from injured reserve, potentially in Week 6.
