Packers’ Josh Jacobs blames media for mischaracterizing controversial touchdown celebration

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs recently addressed media coverage surrounding a touchdown celebration during a Thursday night game broadcast on Prime Video. Critics and viewers speculated that his gesture of placing his hands behind his back was a reference to legal trouble involving domestic battery allegations and a recent no contest plea.

Jacobs firmly pushed back against this narrative while speaking with reporters at his locker, stating that only a brief clip of the moment was televised and that the gesture was actually inspired by a gospel song titled Break Every Chain. Packers head coach Matt LaFleur and announcers Al Michaels and Kirk Herbstreit have also faced scrutiny over how they handled the backdrop surrounding the player's return to the field.
