Mohammad Rizwan takes Pakistan probe to ICC, questions whether PCB followed anti-corruption procedure

Veteran Pakistan wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan has turned to the ICC's Anti-Corruption Unit to evaluate whether the Pakistan Cricket Board respected standard anti-corruption protocol during an inquiry into alleged ties to illicit gambling platforms. The submission via the global governing body's digital portal follows a Lahore High Court ruling that dismissed his challenge against the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency's authority.

Having represented his country in nearly 250 international fixtures over a decade without prior integrity issues, Rizwan is seeking procedural guidance regarding how his mobile phone was confiscated in England, shipped to Pakistan, and subjected to technical scrutiny, questioning whether English authorities or the ICC sanctioned the chain of custody.

The broader inquiry originated during Pakistan's Test series in England, where Rizwan and teammate Imam-ul-Haq faced scrutiny concerning suspected leaks of team strategies, interactions during training, and relevant financial movements. Both cricketers previously met with the NCCIA following their return from abroad, though investigators have disclosed no findings of unlawful conduct, and early forensic reviews of their devices reportedly uncovered no suspicious evidence.
