Mohammad Rizwan takes Pakistan probe to ICC, questions whether PCB followed anti-corruption procedure

Ex-Pakistan skipper Mohammad Rizwan has turned to the International Cricket Council's Anti-Corruption Unit to query whether proper anti-corruption protocols were maintained by the Pakistan Cricket Board during an inquiry concerning him. This follows the Lahore High Court turning down his challenge regarding the legal authority of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency, which has been looking into possible ties to illicit wagering services.

The veteran wicketkeeper, boasting nearly 250 appearances for Pakistan spanning more than ten years without any prior betting-related controversies, queried if global and English anti-graft bodies were informed when his mobile phone was confiscated in the United Kingdom, transported across borders, and forensically analyzed.

Submitting his questions via the ICC ACU digital system, Rizwan aimed to clarify procedural standards and his duties in case of future requests, rather than lodging an official grievance. The situation originates from Pakistan's Test trip to England, where England secured victory in the opening Test by an innings and 103 runs inside three days.

Both Rizwan and opening batter Imam-ul-Haq met with investigators upon their return regarding suspected leaks of team information, discussions during sessions, and financial records surrounding the tour. Despite their devices facing digital audits, initial examinations produced no incriminating findings, and the domestic cyber authority has announced no formal misconduct against the duo.
