The U.S. Golf Association has elevated Merion Golf Club to its prestigious list of anchor sites, guaranteeing the historic Philadelphia course will host multiple championships over the next 25 years.
This designation secures Merion’s place as a future venue for the U.S. Open in 2030, 2040, and 2050, along with the U.S.
Women’s Open in 2034 and 2046. The club, which has already staged 20 USGA events—including legendary victories by Bobby Jones and Ben Hogan—joins Pebble Beach, Oakmont, and Pinehurst as a cornerstone of elite golf competition.
Merion’s selection underscores its enduring legacy as a defining stage for the sport, where past champions like Justin Rose (2013 U.S. Open winner) have etched their names into history.
The anchor site program, launched in 2020, strengthens long-term partnerships between the USGA and iconic venues to preserve championship golf’s most storied settings.
