Three-time major champion Jordan Spieth arrived in Japan for the 2026 BayCurrent Classic with a striking contrast between his recent form and his results. Despite a winless stretch spanning over four years—his last PGA Tour victory coming at the RBC Heritage in April 2022—Spieth insisted his game had improved toward the end of the 2026 season, even as he failed to crack the top 10 in any of his 22 starts.
His comments came after a tournament drought that included 19 cuts made and three missed, with his best finishes tied for 11th place in multiple events. The BayCurrent Classic, running from October 8 to 11, presents Spieth with another chance to break his longest victory drought while entering the event after a 50-day hiatus from competitive play, during which he focused on recovery from wrist surgery in 2024 and a neck injury the prior season.
Now feeling physically stronger and more consistent with his swing, Spieth returns with a rare blend of optimism and urgency, aiming to reclaim his place among golf’s elite.
