The Texas Longhorns’ tight end corps has struggled to replicate past dominance in the passing game, with their 2026 season already showing a stark decline. Between 2022 and 2024, the position averaged nearly 800 yards and six touchdowns per season, thanks to standout performances from Ja’Tavion Sanders and Gunnar Helm.
However, after a disappointing 2025 from Jack Endries—who logged just 33 receptions for 336 yards—the 2026 group has underperformed even further, combining for only 97 yards on nine receptions through four games. This marks the lowest output from the tight ends since Steve Sarkisian’s first season in 2021, when Cade Brewer accounted for nearly all of the position’s production with 22 catches and 184 yards.
Even sophomore Emaree Winston, the only bright spot with a 38-yard reception against Ohio State, has failed to sustain momentum, leaving the Horns’ offense searching for consistency in the air.
