McTominay resumes Napoli training after surgery

Scott McTominay has rejoined Napoli’s first-team training after recovering from a successful heart procedure. The 29-year-old Scotland midfielder underwent an ablation surgery in Manchester last month to address a benign arrhythmia, which had been detected following his early substitution in Napoli’s 2-1 Serie A loss to Como in August.

Diagnostic tests conducted this week confirmed his fitness to return, allowing him to train with the squad after a period of isolated preparation. McTominay’s absence had also seen him miss four Scotland caps, including a Nations League defeat by Slovenia earlier this month, with his next international fixtures against Switzerland and North Macedonia scheduled for November.
