The NFL’s scheduling of the Los Angeles Rams for a Thanksgiving Eve matchup has drawn sharp criticism from quarterback Matthew Stafford’s wife, Kelly, who questioned the league’s decision to grant the team just a 10-day break between games. Typically, NFL teams receive a 14-day bye week to allow players to recover and prepare, but the Rams’ shortened rest period—cut to 10 days—follows their Week 11 bye, setting them up to face the Green Bay Packers on November 26.
Kelly Stafford publicly called out the league on Instagram, expressing frustration over the lack of a proper recovery window, even for a non-playing spouse. The Rams, who have already logged the second-highest travel miles in the league (34,847), opened the season with a road game in Melbourne, Australia, before facing back-to-back road contests and a Monday-night home game, compounding their logistical challenges.
With the team sitting at 4-4 and battling injuries, Stafford’s wife highlighted the strain on players, noting that even she feels exhausted from watching the season unfold.
