Liberty news: Breanna Stewart rains fire as New York upsets 1-seed Lynx to start playoffs

Breanna Stewart delivered a dominant performance on Sunday afternoon, guiding the eighth-seeded New York squad to a commanding 91-75 victory over the top-seeded Minnesota team in the opening matchup of the first playoff round. Stewart recorded an extraordinary stat line consisting of 34 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, two steals, and two blocks while shooting 11-of-18 from the field and converting 10-of-12 free throws to secure the massive road upset.

Having entered the WNBA in 2016 and previously captured a championship title with the organization in 2024, Stewart now has her group positioned to potentially eliminate the league's top seed during Tuesday's upcoming contest.
