Lewis Hamilton finished fourth at the United States Grand Prix, missing a podium spot by one second behind Max Verstappen. Hamilton attributed his result to significant understeer caused by a poor initial vehicle setup, which hindered his ability to navigate low-speed corners during the first two stints of the race.
While his teammate Charles Leclerc secured second place, Hamilton noted that his own car balance improved only in the final stint. This result leaves Hamilton one point behind George Russell in the drivers' championship standings.
Hamilton emphasized that he must resolve these recurring setup issues to remain competitive for the remainder of the season, with hopes for improvement at the upcoming Mexico event.
