Ferrari entered the United States Grand Prix qualifying session as the clear favorites after dominating all three free practice sessions, but ultimately finished with mixed results on the grid. Charles Leclerc secured the fourth position on the second row, while teammate Lewis Hamilton slotted into fifth place on the third row.
Leclerc attributed the team's unexpected performance drop in the final knockout round to a minor decrease in track temperature and tire preparation challenges during his out lap. Meanwhile, Hamilton pointed to a notable straight-line power disadvantage compared to Red Bull and Mercedes, though team boss Fred Vasseur dismissed weather factors as a primary excuse for missing out on pole.
