Andrea Kimi Antonelli dominated the United States Grand Prix to secure his ninth victory of the 2026 campaign, though he must postpone clinching his maiden Formula 1 world championship until the upcoming race in Mexico City. The Italian driver maintains a 123-point advantage over teammate George Russell with 125 points remaining across the final five rounds, needing just two more points to secure the title as the youngest ever.
Charles Leclerc overtook Max Verstappen on lap 49 to claim second place on the podium, while Lewis Hamilton crossed the line fourth, Lando Norris took fifth on a one-stop strategy, Isack Hadjar finished sixth ahead of Oscar Piastri, and George Russell rounded out the top eight following a five-second time penalty. Liam Lawson and Pierre Gasly secured the final points positions in ninth and tenth respectively, while Valtteri Bottas, Franco Colapinto, and Ollie Bearman failed to finish the Austin event.
