Head coach Matt LaFleur confirmed that Trey Smack will remain the Green Bay Packers' placekicker despite the rookie missing two field goals under 35 yards during the team's recent loss to the Detroit Lions. Smack has struggled recently, converting 11 of 16 field goal attempts this season with four misses over the last three games, alongside two missed extra points.
The Packers face a short turnaround before their Thursday night matchup against the Carolina Panthers. Regarding roster availability for that game, LaFleur expects centers Sean Rhyan and Jacob Monk to be sidelined due to injuries sustained in Week 7.
John Williams is slated to take over at center, while the team plans to utilize depth from their existing offensive line roster, including Kevin Zeitler, Donovan Jennings, Jager Burton, and Aaron Banks, to fill the remaining gaps.
