Texas escaped a narrow 34-27 win over Ole Miss on Saturday night, overcoming a series of significant injuries to key players. Before the game, the Longhorns lost both star pass rusher Colin Simmons and leading rusher Hollywood Smothers, who were both sidelined by previous injuries.
During the game, left tackle Trevor Goosby was carted off with a knee issue in the first quarter, and wide receiver Cam Coleman also exited with an upper-body injury in the third quarter. Despite a brief medical check for Arch Manning after a hard sack, Manning then returned to lead the-game-winning drive.
Ole Miss running back Kewan Lacy was also injured in his shoulder during the third quarter.
