Late Ipswich winner sinks 10-man Palace

Ipswich Town recorded their first top-flight away victory since April 2025 by overcoming Crystal Palace in a dramatic 3-2 contest. The home side initially seized the advantage when Daichi Kamada set up Anan Khalaili, whose strike clipped defender Leif Davis before beating goalkeeper Kjell Scherpen.

However, the visitors responded when Emersonn nodded home a delivery from Davis while the opposing backline hesitated over a potential offside flag. Palace were soon reduced to ten men in the 34th minute after Axel Disasi received a direct dismissal for planting his studs into Jack Clarke's leg, paving the way for Davis to put Ipswich ahead with an unmarked header just before the interval.

Despite having to battle with a player disadvantage, the hosts pressed forward in the closing stages, with Quinten Timber misfiring on a pair of chances prior to Jorgen Strand Larsen shielding his marker and finishing into the bottom corner to restore parity. Yet in the 90th minute, following a Davis header that bounced off the woodwork, substitute Zian Flemming pounced to slot home the decisive finish.

The triumph notably snapped a 32-match Premier League drought spanning back to December 2001 in which Ipswich had conceded the opening goal without managing to claim all three points.
