Kevin Jennings is set to lead No. 22 SMU against Missouri State at Ford Stadium this Saturday night, marking a full-circle moment against the first Division I program to offer him a scholarship back in November 2021 when he was at South Oak Cliff.
After initially committing to the Bears, Jennings ultimately stayed home with SMU following an offer from coach Rhett Lashlee, eventually developing into a standout quarterback and the focal point of the team's Heisman campaign.
Through the first three games of the 2026 season, Jennings has connected on 64 of 87 pass attempts for 989 yards, nine touchdowns, and four interceptions while averaging nearly 330 yards per contest following a stellar 2025 campaign under the guidance of a staff that now features Missouri State coach Casey Woods, who previously spent four seasons working alongside Lashlee on the SMU sideline.
