Missed opportunities lead to deflating Illinois loss to Purdue

Purdue secured a 24-17 victory over Illinois on Saturday at Gies Memorial Stadium, claiming the Cannon trophy. Following a defeat to Ohio State, defensive coordinator Bobby Hauck departed, leaving Roger Cooper to handle defensive play-calling duties under head coach Bret Bielema.

Tra'Mar Harris caught a twenty-one yard touchdown pass, and Asaam Waseed added a sixty-one yard run for Purdue. Colin Dixon scored a late second-quarter touchdown for Illinois off a drive led by quarterback Katin Houser.
