Joey Porter Jr. is a Cowboy, was apparently never going to be a Giant

Following a trade from Pittsburgh, Joey Porter Jr. has landed with Dallas in exchange for a 2027 sixth-round draft pick and a 2028 second-round choice.

The transaction occurred without a contract extension being finalized as the defensive player seeks a substantial new deal. Meanwhile, league sources indicated that New York never pursued talks regarding the cornerback, citing draft capital limitations and massive market values for elite players at the position.

Dallas absorbed the acquisition while managing multiple injuries among defensive backs such as Shavon Revel Jr. and Cobee Bryant.
