England has been drawn into Group B for the 2027 ODI World Cup, which will take place across South Africa, Namibia, and Zimbabwe between October 4 and November 21. Their schedule features an October 20 fixture in Harare against a group qualifier, marking the senior men's squad's initial appearance on Zimbabwean turf since their 2004 tour.
Group B also contains Bangladesh, New Zealand, South Africa, and Sri Lanka, keeping England separated from top-seeded Group A rivals India and Australia until the Super 7 stage. Meanwhile, Zimbabwe finds itself in Group A alongside India, Australia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and an additional qualifier.
This upcoming Harare contest follows a history that includes a 2003 World Cup boycott under then-captain Nasser Hussain due to political pressure and threats, as well as a more recent resumption of bilateral ties initiated by a Test match at Trent Bridge in May 2025.
