The twenty-three-year-old centerpiece sat out every training session leading up to the contest after undergoing a Tuesday surgical procedure to trim his meniscus, having sustained a knee problem during training camp.

While head coach Klint Kubiak skirted definitive timelines regarding the All-Pro's availability, optimism remains that Bowers could take the field as early as a Week 2 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers on September 20.
