India vs West Indies second ODI: Windies needs a win to keep series alive

India and the West Indies meet in Guwahati for the second match of their ongoing one-day international series. The visiting squad seeks a crucial victory at Barsapara to prevent the hosts from securing the bilateral trophy early and to break a long drought on Indian soil, having recently missed an automatic qualification spot for the upcoming 2027 World Cup.

Despite a strong opening partnership and centuries or half-centuries from batters like Justin Greaves, John Campbell, and Amir Jangoo during the previous fixture, the visiting side continues to struggle with bowling and fielding execution. Meanwhile, the home team enters the contest holding the top position in the global rankings, bolstered by strong recent performances from prominent figures including Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Kuldeep Yadav, and Prasidh Krishna.
