Illinois Defensive Coordinator Bobby Hauck Gone After Four Games

Following a difficult start to the 2026 campaign, Bobby Hauck has stepped down as the defensive coordinator for the Illinois football program after just four contests. The decision arrived on Sunday, nearly a day after a 42-19 defeat against Ohio State played in Columbus.

Head coach Bret Bielema confirmed that the departure was mutually agreed upon to benefit the team moving forward, concluding a brief tenure that began when Hauck was hired in February following his retirement from Montana.
