Alex Pereira is remaining in the heavyweight division for his next bout, scheduling a five-round co-main event against Sergei Pavlovich at UFC 335 on December 12. The matchup was revealed live during UFC 332 over the weekend, setting up a high-stakes clash between two contenders looking to work their way back to a championship opportunity.
Pereira previously moved up in weight after capturing titles in both the middleweight and light heavyweight classes, though his initial bid for a historic third belt ended in a knockout defeat against current titleholder Ciryl Gane at a June event in Washington, DC.
Pavlovich enters this upcoming December card seeking the biggest victory of his career following a turbulent stretch that included losses to Tom Aspinall in an interim title bout and Alexander Volkov. Since those setbacks, he has successfully rebuilt momentum inside the division by stringing together three consecutive victories, capped off by a knockout win over Tallison Teixeira earlier this year in May.
Organizers plan to round out the rest of the UFC 335 fight card in the days ahead.
