ICC new rules: Batters face five-run penalty for time-wasting, pink balls allowed in day Tests

The International Cricket Council has rolled out several updates to playing regulations for upcoming international series starting in October. The amendments introduce penalty runs for habitual time-wasting, update catching and overthrow definitions, and permit daytime Test matches to use colored balls if both participating squads consent.

Additional adjustments cover ball sizing specifications, innings closure protocols, and permanent adoption of previous limited-overs trials.
