Hurricanes Recall Reinforcement From AHL Chicago

The Carolina Hurricanes have called up defenseman Juuso Valimaki from their AHL affiliate, the Chicago Wolves, after he was among the last players cut from the training camp roster. Valimaki, a 27‑year‑old Finnish left‑defender, brings 271 NHL games of experience, tallying 11 goals and 72 points since his debut.

With Charles Alexis Legault reassigned on Saturday, the Canes were left with just six defensemen, prompting Mike Reilly to start against the Flyers. The club travels to Montreal on Tuesday to face the Canadiens, and Valimaki’s recall could provide a debut opportunity or simply add depth to the blueline.
