RONALDO WELCOME BACK! Jorge Jesus Opens Portugal Door After Dramatic Exit

PORTO — Cristiano Ronaldo could return to Portugal after coach Jorge Jesus publicly opened the door for the veteran superstar following his dramatic departure from the national-team camp.

Ronaldo left the squad last week after being an unused substitute in Portugal's 2–1 win over Norway and learning he would not start against Denmark. He later said he would explain his reasons for leaving “in due course.”

Jesus has now insisted that Ronaldo remains welcome. The Portugal coach said the forward can return if he wants to, adding that Ronaldo himself should decide how he wants to finish his international career.

The Portuguese Football Federation president Pedro Proença has also backed Ronaldo's continued place in the team, describing the situation as a misunderstanding that should be resolved internally.

Portugal have moved on successfully without their captain, beating Denmark 4–2 and Norway 2–1 to secure a place in the Nations League quarter-finals.

Ronaldo remains Portugal's all-time leading scorer with 146 international goals in 234 appearances. His next opportunity to return could come during the November international window.

For now, the biggest question remains: will Ronaldo choose to return?
