David Samson doesn’t think Ohio State had anything to do with Fox dumping Dave Portnoy

Fox Sports has ended its partnership with Dave Portnoy on Big Noon Kickoff following a tenure of roughly one and a half seasons. While Portnoy contends that pressure from Ohio State regarding his past criticisms of the program and head coach Ryan Day forced the network's hand, David Samson suggests the decision was purely a matter of professional incompatibility.

Samson argues that the network likely determined the collaboration was not yielding sufficient value, viewing the Ohio State narrative as a strategic distraction from the underlying lack of synergy between the personality and the broadcast's established tone.
