How William Contreras, the MVP of this Brewers playoff run, is commanding the game from every angle

William Contreras has emerged as a pivotal force for the Milwaukee Brewers during their 2026 postseason run. The catcher has led all catchers with 13 challenges and has provided critical leadership for the pitching staff.

Manager Pat Murphy noted that Contreras was likely the most valuable player in the series against the Padres and the Dodgers.

In Game 1 of the World Series, the Brewers defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 3-2. Contreras contributed two hits, including an RBI single in the first inning. His defensive play behind the plate was crucial in the securing the win, even as Victor Mesa Jr. reached base via a single off Jacob Misiorowski in the fifth.
