Kansas City's kicking woes deepened after Harrison Butker missed a 54-yard attempt late in the fourth quarter during a 28-24 defeat against Denver on Sunday. Butker converted just one of two kicks and admitted his latest miscue was a severe error in technique.
With six missed field goals this season, his accuracy rate has dropped to 68.8 percent, the lowest mark of his career. The growing struggles have increased scrutiny on the veteran kicker, especially with Justin Tucker currently stationed on the practice squad following his addition last week.
Meanwhile, a late potential game-winning touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes to Rashee Rice was nullified due to an official's false start penalty against the offensive line.
