Glasner haunts Emery again as Forest win at Aston Villa

Nottingham Forest secured a 2-1 away triumph over Aston Villa at Villa Park, keeping Unai Emery's squad without a single Premier League win so far this campaign. The result extended Oliver Glasner's mastery over Emery, who has failed to beat the Austrian manager in eight attempts.

Liam Delap initiated the scoring with a long-distance strike, marking his maiden goal in Forest colours. Villa responded by introducing recent acquisitions Ibrahim Mbaye and Johan Manzambi to revive their attack, and the pressure paid off when Alysson netted his first goal for the hosts to restore parity.

Just as the home side gathered momentum, disaster struck ten minutes before the final whistle when an injured Ian Maatsen had to hobble off the pitch. Because all allowable replacements had already been deployed, Villa were reduced to ten players for the conclusion of the contest.

Forest capitalised on the numerical advantage, and with only three minutes left on the clock, Igor Jesus produced the match-winning effort to trigger jubilant scenes among the away fans.
