Georgia defeated Ole Miss 42-7 at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on Saturday, ending the Rebels' 16-game home winning streak. The victory kept the Bulldogs in the No.2 spot and thrust them back into the national No.1 conversation.
Coach Kirby Smart had spent the week noting the poise of Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss.
The win marked Smart's first triumph in Oxford as Georgia's head coach. Ole Miss entered the game ranked 12th while Georgia was ranked second in the SEC. The dominant performance underscored Georgia's defensive pressure early in the contest.
