Tyrell Malacia has completed a move to Major League Soccer side FC Cincinnati as a free agent following his departure from Manchester United at the conclusion of the previous campaign. The 27-year-old Dutch defender has agreed to terms through June, with the club holding a contract option that could keep him in place for the 2027-28 season.
Malacia originally arrived in England from Feyenoord in 2022 and featured in 50 matches for the English heavyweights, though fitness issues frequently curtailed his playing time.
Cincinnati general manager Chris Albright praised the signing, highlighting Malacia's veteran pedigree and awareness of elite competitive standards. Albright expressed confidence that the fullback's defensive awareness, composure in possession, and unselfish approach will significantly strengthen the squad.
