Florida State coaching candidates after Mike Norvell fired: Who replaces him?

Florida State has dismissed head coach Mike Norvell following a disappointing 3-5 start to the season, capping off a seven-year tenure that resulted in a 39-41 overall record. The university faces a significant financial hurdle, as the move triggers a $50.3 million buyout payment amid an existing $400 million debt load.

The search for a successor is underway, with potential candidates including Duke head coach Manny Diaz, Georgia defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann, and former Seminoles coach Jimbo Fisher. The program aims to secure a leader capable of maintaining consistent ACC competitiveness and playoff contention.
