Fins Up, Fins Down | Week One

The Miami Dolphins began their 2026 campaign under a fresh leadership group featuring general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan and head coach Jeff Hafley, dropping their regular-season kickoff 27-13 against the Las Vegas Raiders at Allegiant Stadium. Miami initially slipped into a 17-3 hole before producing ten unanswered points to trim the margin, yet the offense and defense both stalled down the stretch to allow Las Vegas to secure the win.

Despite the setback, rookie linebacker Jacob Rodriguez generated significant attention in his first career appearance while wearing jersey number 10. Following the contest, Rodriguez publicly criticized fundamental blunders that plagued the roster, whereas Hafley noted positive elements he took pride in while continuing the franchise's strategic focus on drafting and player progression.
