F1 fans promised "proper battles" at new African Grand Prix circuit

Formula 1 is scheduled to make its return to the African continent during the 2030s via a brand new racing venue located in Bugesera, Rwanda. While modern tracks have frequently drawn criticism for producing processional and lackluster races, the layout's creators have assured enthusiasts that the upcoming African Grand Prix layout will deliver genuine on-track duels.

Speaking on a podcast following the official reveal, designer Alex Wurz detailed how specific technical elements in the final sector of the circuit will penalize overly aggressive driving and demand high levels of patience from competitors.
