Max Verstappen faced a difficult qualifying session during his return to GT racing at Portimao, where he and teammates Chris Lulham and Ben Barnicoat secured the 15th starting position for the upcoming three-hour event. The team struggled with a problematic car setup that caused significant bouncing and sparking on the track, leaving them well back in the 61-car field.
Earlier in the weekend, Verstappen was involved in a minor practice incident with Ezequiel Perez Companc, though officials opted against penalties. While the 2 Seas Motorsport entry showed promise in earlier sessions, they were unable to match the pace of the pole-sitting Porsche driven by Dorian Boccalacci, Morris Schuring, and Alessio Picariello.
