End of Dodgers dynasty? Brewers sweep champs en route to World Series; Broncos stifle Seahawks in OT

The Brewers clinched a World Series berth by defeating the two‑time defending champions, the Dodgers, 6‑4, completing a sweep of the NLCS. Jake Bauers went 4‑for‑14 in the series and earned the NLCS MVP award, while speculation grew about the Dodgers’ future if pitcher Tarik Skubal departs in free agency.

In the NFL, the Broncos edged the Seahawks 17‑14 in overtime on Thursday Night Football, with Denver’s defense recording five sacks and two interceptions against Sam Darnold in the final drives. The win improved Denver’s AFC West record to 4‑2 and marked a victory over the reigning Super Bowl champions.

Meanwhile, the College Football Playoff is set to expand to 24 teams for the 2027 season, a change that could eliminate conference championship games.
