With India leading their five-match T20I series against New Zealand 3-1, the upcoming fifth game on October 31, 2026, presents a selection dilemma regarding the wicketkeeper-batter position. Dinesh Karthik has proposed a rotation strategy to accommodate both Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Sanju Samson in the final XI.
Karthik suggests that rather than permanent changes, the team should utilize rest periods for current starters to integrate younger talent. He specifically recommended resting Arshdeep Singh to allow for an extra spinner, while noting that Abhishek Sharma could also be rotated out to provide Sooryavanshi with playing time.
