Demand has reached staggering heights for the upcoming fixture between the historic rivals at the 2027 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup, with close to 8.4 million applications submitted. The match is scheduled for October 10 at the Wanderers ground in Johannesburg, a venue with a modest capacity of 34,000 seats.
That same arena will also stage the tournament's climax on November 21, drawing nearly eight million bids. Opening the competition on October 7, a rematch of the previous final will feature Australia against India.
Historically, the rivalry heavily favors India, who have claimed victory in their last nine encounters, leaving Pakistan without a win since the 2022 Asia Cup. The tournament format groups teams into pools where the leading sides advance toward the Super 7 phase and subsequent semi-finals across matches co-hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.
